I NEVER KNEW I HUGGED A GHOST - Part 1
The story I am about to tell you will blow your mind. It is the true life story of a lady and how she started believing in ghosts.
Her name is Chinenye Ubah and she grew up in the eastern part of Nigeria. She had challenges all round, especially as a female and only child; but her parents never gave up on her. This made her strive to achieve academic excellence while in University.
Her mum was a petty trader, while her dad had a struggling business that barely provides enough for the family.
After her NYSC, Chinenye got a job that required her to move down to Lagos. Moving to Lagos, she squatted with a friend she met at university for a year before she could gain ground and get her own apartment.
According to Chinenye, she do listen to stories concerning ghosts and spirits and also watch horror movies. Even if they say its a true life story, she usually don't take it to heart nor believe such is real; Until this incident happened to her, which changed all her perceptions concerning ghosts.
So two years after she moved to her own apartment at a calm environment in Lagos, she had received a call from two of her family friends, that was very close to her when she was in the East. They were all excited while they gisted, and they told her they would want to come over to her place in Lagos, spend some time with her and also look for a job, as nothing was working for them in the village. Chinenye granted their request and they thanked her.
They told her they would be in Lagos on a Saturday morning as they would prefer taking a night bus on Friday.. She had objected then taking a night bus, but they insisted, majorly because it was cheaper for them and they would want to be sure to arrive during the day, so they could find their way with the address they wrote down, incase anything happens that her phone wasn't reachable. They are adults, so Chinenye couldn't push further.
So on Fridays before the Saturday they said they were arriving, Chinenye came back from work early, really excited, anticipating Hannah and Jane's arrival. She went to the supermarket close to her house to restock her edibles; arranged her whole house and laid down.
Around 5:30pm they called her and told her they were at the bus park and their bus about loading. She wished them safe journey and they hung up. Late that night, Chinenye kept feeling cold breeze hovering all over, she woke up and took a duvet to cover herself. She looked at the clock and it was just past 1am, so she went back to sleep.
The next morning, Chinenye woke up with a mark on her wrist, it burned a lot, so she took some ice from the fridge to place on it for about 10mins. She had dreamt that someone was holding her wrist so tight, only for her to wake up with that mark.
She picked up her phone to call Hannah and Jane, both lines were ringing, but none of them answered it. She tried severally, still no response. So she dropped her phone and went to see her neighbor who was a doctor, so he can advise her what to do on her wrist.
On seeing the wrist, Doc said it will probably be a reaction from the excess heat at night. Hearing that, Chinenye winked in surprise. But the weather was cold, with all that wind blowing. I even thought it was going to rain, she said. Doc looked surprise also, that is strange because it was hot all through the night, he responded.
But don't worry, just apply healing balm on it and you will be fine in a couple of days he said. So Chinenye thanked him and left.
Getting to her apartment door, she saw a note lying on the entrance, she picked it up and it read "WE ARE COMING". She was shocked and afraid, but she went inside with caution, leaving the door open, just in case there was a break-in, so she can easily run out; as strange things have been happening within their street lately...
